Taking the Plunge

Happy Monday, everyone!

I am a little nervous because tomorrow is my first Infant Massage class, and to be honest I don’t feel very ready. Of course I have been preparing for this day for quite some time, especially after finally finding a venue, but I suppose it’s likely that no matter how much studying I do, I will never truly feel ready. I must simply take the plunge and learn to teach by just teaching.

Nerves aside, I am very excited. Teaching the art of Infant Massage is something that I genuinely believe will bring a lot of positivity to the world by improving communication and bonding between infants and their families — skills which they will later develop and share as they grow.

It has been a long time since I felt so excited about and driven by an idea. So while I am feeling nervous, my excitement to share such wonderful knowledge easily outweighs it.

I can not imagine for a moment that it is easy to be a teacher, but I am excited to give it a shot. For those of you who are interested, I fully intend to document my learning experience as I go. Please feel free to share any teaching tips that you may have! I would greatly appreciate them.

Once my practicum is complete in the next few weeks, I will begin to book proper classes. In the mean time, keep your eyes open for updates!

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

Randi

  2. Overall, I am well…some dips in the road here and there, but such is life. Things are on the upswing, lately….and, I have a week off next week….first time in nearly 2 years. I am working at the same job, on the same child and youth mental health team, but I now have a permanent position, so that is great. Given time to breathe a bit easier, I look forward to catching up on reading and doing more writing. I’m here when you are….I will look for you and will be delighted to “see” you whenever life slows down enough to allow for you to give even more than you do now.
