30 Minute Massage
A 30 minute appointment is the perfect amount of time to address a specific complaint or continue a treatment plan. It can also accommodate anyone with a busy schedule and is recommended for young children due to their size and toleration.
75 Minute Massage
A 75 minute massage provides sufficient time for a full body massage with emphasis on assessment and focused treatment.
Perinatal Massage
Encompassing pre- and postnatal massage
Prenatal massage is a safe and efficient way to treat pain, swelling and joint discomfort during pregnancy. It is also a wonderful way to reduce or prevent stress and it’s negative side-effects during a time that can be stressful for any expecting mother. Postnatal massage can also be beneficial during recovery from giving birth, and learning self-massage techniques is important for scar tissue treatment after a C-section.
Infant Massage Classes
4 week private class or 5 week group class
Massage therapy can be beneficial for people of all ages, including infants. Infant massage provides physical, mental and emotional benefits to the infant receiving, as well as to the parent providing it. Benefits include bonding, relaxation and improved sleep, pain relief, improved digestion, and fun one-on-one time with baby!
For more information please visit my infant massage page.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, group classes are on hold until further notice. Private classes are still available at the clinic and can be booked by filling out the form on the registration page.
45 Minute Massage
A 45 minute appointment provides a good balance between the 30 and 60 minutes and can be ideal for a simple relaxation massage. It is also recommended for teens, as 60 minutes can often be too long.
90 Minute Massage
A 90 minute massage may be necessary for clients who require a full body massage with multiple areas of focused treatment.
Generally, 90 minutes is not recommended for a first appointment as the therapist may wish to assess the client and determine their needs prior to booking this amount of time.
Neuroproprioceptive Taping
Neuroproprioceptive (NP) Taping is a form of therapeutic tape application that uses the body’s physiological reaction to achieve a desired result. It can be used to reduce swelling and pressure, stimulate muscle contraction for strengthening, inhibit overactive nerves and provide minor support to weakened joints during rehabilitation or in the later stages of pregnancy.
Infant Massage Therapy
While I believe that parents and caregivers should provide massage to their little ones wherever possible, I also understand that some do not feel comfortable providing more therapeutic techniques at home. In this case, I am happy to assist by providing therapy for infants with birth injuries or musculoskeletal conditions such as torticollis.
Booking for this treatment is not available online. If you wish to book a massage for your infant, please email me directly or fill out the form on the infant massage registration page.
60 Minute Massage
A 60 minute massage is the most commonly booked appointment; it provides plenty of time to include assessment, a full-body massage and the opportunity to address any complaints you may have. This may also be an ideal time for a client wishing to book a full body relaxation treatment.
Hot Stone Massage – 45, 60, 75 or 90 Minute
Hot stone massage is perfect for both pure relaxation and therapeutic treatment. The heated stones effectively transfer heat to your muscles, allowing your therapist to release adhesion and get deeper into the tissue.
Combining heat with the use of essential oils provides a calming atmosphere; it is the perfect way to escape the winter cold and indulge in a bit of extra self-care.
A 45 minute appointment allows for the use of hot stones in a focused, therapeutic treatment, while 60 and 75 minute appointments incorporate the use of hot stones into a regular treatment for additional therapy or relaxation. A 90 minute treatment allows time for the use of hot stones to be incorporated into a slow-paced and relaxing full body massage.
Be sure to ask about hot stone massage gift certificates!
Aromatherapy
Can be added to most massage treatments
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for various purposes such as relaxation, mental stimulation, stress relief, improved sleep, and reduced pain and inflammation.
Some oils may be contraindicated for people with certain conditions, during pregnancy and nursing, or for children. It is important that you inform you therapist of any health concerns prior to your treatment.
