Happy Monday everyone,
Apologies for my absence. Last week was a whirlwind.
Every couple of weeks I find myself engulfed by a weekend packed with work and events and errands, which passes so quickly that it has gone before I’ve had a chance to sit and relax and before I know it Monday is upon me once again.
Today is one of those Mondays. To my advantage, it is not a busy work day, so I have set aside time to sit, relax… and do paperwork.
I am not tasked with such work often, so when I am it is actually an enjoyable change of pace. It’s still pretty cold outside anyway, so I don’t feel too deprived of the fresh air.
I would like to share a song today that, despite the chill outdoors, emits the essence of a summer day’s drive through the prairies; fitting, as the artist hails from our very own Winnipeg.
I stumbled upon Del Barber at the Winnipeg Folk Festival back is 2010 and have clung to his music ever since. It is unique in ways that I cannot explain; Love is Just A Wrecking Ball in particular was not a favourite of mine right off the bat, but has definitely grown on me in recent months and worked its way up to become one of my favourites.
Wishing you a lovely afternoon,
Randi
