The following information is also found on Munroe Massage Therapy’s website. Please read it thoroughly, as it is important to follow health and safety protocol during the pandemic and will help us to run our schedules smoothly.
When Booking an Appointment
Your Health Status
If you are presenting signs of illness, have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or have traveled outside of Manitoba withing the past 2 weeks, please refrain from booking an appointment. We ask that you use the following screening tool and inform us if your health status changes.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, we request proof of recovery before booking your next appointment.
Booking an Appointment for Your Child
If a child is under 16 a parent must be present to sign forms and attend the appointment. Please note that appointments of this nature will be limited to times when the clinic capacity will not be exceeded.
Children Accompanying You to Your Appointment
New health and safety guidelines mandate social distancing and limit the number of individuals allowed in the clinic at a given time. As a result, children and other family members will not be permitted to accompany you to your appointment. Please prearrange care for your children; if you are unable to do so we will have no choice but to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
During the pandemic, we are waiving fees for cancellations due to illness. If you present any signs or symptoms, please call as soon as possible to cancel your appointment. If you show up to your appointment presenting signs or symptoms, or withhold any health information from us, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment immediately and charge the cancellation fee. This is for the safety of our therapists, clients and families.
Before Entering Clinic
Physical Distancing
In order to operate under the current health and safety guidelines, there is a limit to the number of people allowed in the clinic at a given time. As a result, our reception area is not available; please wait in your car or across the parking lot and only approach the clinic when prompted by your therapist via call, text or signal from the doorway.
Screening Prior to Appointment
As part of the health and safety measures to protect ourselves and our clients, and prevent the spread of COVID-19, each client must undergo a screening process. Please be sure to read all of the following information before your appointment. A detailed screening questionnaire will be conducted before you enter the clinic on the day of your appointment. If you present with any signs or symptoms of illness, your appointment will be cancelled and we will ask that you call Health Links.
Limited Resources
As a result of our capacity limit, our receptionist will not be available and we will be preparing our own paperwork and insurance forms for the time being. Without the support of our receptionist we will be restricted from making calls to insurance companies. If you have insurance, please call your company to be sure it is still valid before arriving to your appointment. If your claim fails, you will be asked to pay up front and we will issue a receipt to you.
Use of Facilities
We will be sanitizing the clinic between each appointment and after contact with specific areas. The restroom will be available for urgent cases but we ask that you please try to use the restroom at home before coming to your appointment.
During Your Appointment
Hand Hygiene
Upon entering the clinic you will be asked to sanitize your hands immediately. Please wash your hands thoroughly after coughing, sneezing, touching your face or using your cell phone. Some therapists may ask you to wash your hands and arms if you wish to have them massaged during your treatment.
Phones
We are asking that you please shut off or silence your phone while in the clinic and refrain from using it where possible as cell phones can be difficult to keep sanitary. If you must use your phone, please sanitize yours hands again after each use.
Personal Protective Equipment
All of our therapists are required to wear face masks for your safety, and some may opt to wear gloves during the treatment. Please inform of any allergies you may have prior to your appointment.
It is requested that you bring a mask to wear during your appointment if possible. Please do not put the mask on before entering the clinic. If you do not have a mask, some therapists may have additional masks available; please ask ahead of time to be sure. If you do not wish to wear a mask, some aspects of your treatment will be modified for the therapist’s and your safety.
Personal Items
Your therapist will have a designated area where you may put your shoes and clothing during the appointment. This area will be sanitized between each appointment.
Payment, Insurance and Rescheduling
Payment and scheduling will now take place within the treatment room to maintain physical distancing. If possible please try to use a contact free payment method such as Interac e-transfer or Interac Flash (tap). If you are unable to do so, know that payment consoles will also be sanitized between uses.
