The start of the holidays are like being launched from a slingshot. You spend so much time pulling back from it, avoiding the aggressive push for early Christmas shopping from retail stores and radio commercials, only to suddenly find yourself in the middle of it all.

That’s also how this clinic transition has felt; planning has been in the works for nearly a year, and what a long year it has turned out to be — for obvious reasons. It seems like this moment has been anticipated for so long, and now that it’s finally here we simultaneously find ourselves in the thick of our busiest season. There is a bittersweet feeling as one chapter closes and a new one begins. Needless to say, we are looking forward to settling into the new clinic and getting back to the simple stuff — or as simple as we can hope for in the current situation.

With the holidays starting and new city-wide restrictions coming into practice the very same day that My Massage Therapy opens, I wanted to clarify a few things so you know what to expect for your appointment.

COVID-19 Health and Safety

Firstly, there are no new restrictions that will affect massage therapists or the way we operate; we will continue to follow current guidelines such as sanitization practices, mandatory masks and ensuring that clients remain distanced within the clinic. For the time being we ask that you continue to wait in your vehicle until you are called in for your appointment, and notify us as soon as possible if you are feeling unwell or have potentially been exposed to the virus.

Holiday Rush

November and December are our busiest months of the year, primarily due to clients hoping to use the remainder of their insurance benefits before renewal in January. Our priority has always been to accommodate the clients who see us year-round and are on regular treatment plans. We encourage you to book your appointments well in advance to avoid disrupting your treatment plan.

Booking Your Appointment

One of the easiest ways to book an appointment is through our online schedule. I am currently working evenings and weekends, alternating my days off each week. A general outline of my available hours are as follows:

Monday
5:15 PM – 9:15 PM
Tuesday
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Wednesday
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Thursday
5:15 PM – 9:15 PM
Friday
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday
9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Sunday
9:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Saturday and Sunday appointments are not available to be booked online as they are reserved for regular clients. I will likely be working alone on weeknights, therefore later evening appointments are also restricted to clients I am familiar with. If you are looking to book an appointment and are unable to find one through the online schedule, please feel free to contact me directly at randinowicki@hotmail.ca.

As always, appointments can also be booked simply by calling the clinic, and we are happy to have been able to transfer the existing phone number from Munroe Massage Therapy. Our number is 204-415-1587 and Darcie will be available to answer the phone during weekday mornings, however we urge you to always leave a message with your name and contact information if no one is available at the time of your call.

Price Updates

Because we are operating under new ownership at a brand new, larger clinic, our prices are slightly different and are specified below:

Massage Therapy
30 Minute$55.00
45 Minute$70.00
60 Minute$85.00
75 Minute$95.00
90 Minute$120.00
Aromatherapy+$5.00
HoT Stone Massage
90 Minute$140.00
Aromatherapy+$5.00

Gift Certificates

The holidays will look a little different this year, and the idea of shopping is stressful enough before factoring in how to accomplish it all during a pandemic. This year I am making a stronger attempt to support local businesses and focus on quality time with family.

If you are looking to do the same, a massage or hot stone gift certificate could be perfect for nearly anyone on your list; it’s thoughtful, unique, and a wonderful way to provide a relaxing escape from the stress of the past year.

More details on gift certificates will be available soon so be sure to check back or ask about it at your next appointment.

As always, I look forward to seeing you.

Take care and stay safe,

Randi Nowicki RMT, CIMI
